Screwed Over

My children suffer from PTSD, DID, life is hard and we are unable to move on. Attendance is not always easy when it comes to school or college or anything else for that matter. Today one of them lost a college placement and it has been given to someone else due to poor attendance over the last term. Yes no matter what you suffer with if you have poor attendance they can do it, there is always a way around the Disability Discrimination Act. I know if it wasn't for the ups and downs of waiting for this court case this would not have happened, the stress along with the disabilities is all too much  for them. Their suffering goes on and there is nothing I can do about it. Be proud of our Justice System, who is being punished here? Devastated and as my child did not so politely put it "Once again I have been screwed over."

Your are doing something --- you will triumph ... for your children!

  2. I'm so sorry Mother, how frustrating! Vale is only in the 7th grade so his time missed in school, although it has it's impact, hasn't hit us like that. No money or placement lost. And in the states, an accounting or transcript doesn't start appearing until the 9th grade or high school. Know you're never far from our thoughts.

You are fighting a difficult but very necessary fight, and are doing a great job at it. Unfortunately in any war there is collateral damage, which in this situation is so unfair. Especially when we didn't enlist. But Marley's is right. And just like you, I refuse to do nothing.

  3. Our legal system is a disgrace it ends up abusing victims again and again it is no wonder that people choose not to take on the system. I work with young people that have suffered abuse and none of their abusers have been prosecuted so they are free to live their lives whereas their victims are struggling to put their lives back together. I am so glad your children have you to support them through this. You are doing an amazing job and I hope you are getting some support yourself
